Oscarsborg Fortress

a national fortification

Oscarsborg Fortress

Oscarsborg Fortress is situated on the Oslofjord and has had the important function of defending the seaward approach to the capital. With its strategic location on an island, Oscarsborg Fortress is a very popular tourist destination, with its own marina and great biological diversity.

Opening hours

The fortress area is open 24/7 all year. Oscarsborg is only accessible by boat. A ferry service runs every day all year from Drøbak to Oscarsborg Fortress. The crossing from Drøbak takes about 10 minutes.

From 15th of december: Reduced ferry service. Due to engine problems on the vessel "Oscarsborg 2" all departures and arrivals from Sjøtorget are cancelled. The ferry service will be served by the vessel "Oscarsborg 3" between Oscarsborg and Sundbrygga in Husvikveien 12.

If you have any questions you can contact the maritim director on telephone +47 482 19 900.
